Even though it's summer, and a lot of activities we do throughout the year are on hiatus, we still make it a point to visit our local library frequently! We still attend the weekly story time, but Samuel tends to want to do his own thing (got to love that independence!) While all the other kids sit quietly, usually Samuel is either 1. Finding other books he would prefer to read 2. Running through the adult fiction section (which, of course, running in the library is the ONLY rule Samuel has to follow and he can't quite get it!). 3. Stands off to the side while Miss Nancy reads, unsure if he wants to participate!
One of Samuel's favorite types of books are pop-up books and books that are interactive! If the story involves pulling, flipping, or moving a tab, Samuel is all for it! He really enjoys the Maizy series because they have so many pop-ups and interactive pages!
Samuel also found another series about bugs that involves big pop-ups! We read about the snow bugs every week!!! Samuel knows just where they are on the shelf! I'm always thankful no one has checked it out!
I'm so glad Samuel loves going to the library! We have a lot fun there! Once Miss Nancy is done with reading and moves on to craft time, Samuel enjoys playing on his own with the story boards and puzzles in the kids area! Though, he is starting to become "one of the boys" and I frequently have to chase him down in the crowd of boys running around the library! You know, because tag in the library is the thing to do!
