I was looking at Pinterest and noticed a lot of people had bucket lists for their toddler! It's a great way to make sure you aren't just sitting around all summer or get bored by doing the same thing over and over and over again (you know toddlers, they love doing the same things!) So I thought this would be a GREAT project for me and Samuel! Despite him being a creature of habit, I'm trying new and different things with him as often as I can...and being 8 months pregnant is making it a challenge! But, we are having fun with it and hopefully our summer is going to be awesome!
We keep to a tight and frugal budget, so most of our families activities are low cost or free! You can adjust accordingly!
1. Help water the plants (2-year olds love to be big helpers!) and who doesn't love water???
2. Make and eat Popsicles (or buy some at the store!) There are tons of recipes on Pinterest for homemade Popsicles and we've tried everything from strawberry smoothie Popsicles to NutellaSicles!
3. Go to different parks in the area! Samuel loves to visit new parks!
4. Visit an aquarium, zoo, or farm! Whatever your area might have!
5. Go to a local farmers market...then eat what you bought!
6. Turn the TV off, and enjoy a summer rain storm!
7. Play with water! We have a water table, which Samuel loves! But you can just get a bucket of water and a measuring cup and let your toddler go at it!
8. Ride bikes!
9. Get a kiddie pool for $10 at Walmart...a summer worth of fun!
10. Pull out a toy or two from the winter months that hasn't been played with in a few months! It's like a brand new toy!
11. Join a summer reading program at the library!
12. Host a cook-out for family/friends!
13. Play tag...or other fun outdoor games!
14. Visit a local swimming pool!
15. Go for a walk as a family! Take a bucket and see what kinds of neat stuff you can find! Pinecones? Leaves? A stick? Bugs?
16. Go for a jog...and take your kiddo!!! You'll be surprised at how fast they can go!
17. Play basketball
18. Play in the sand! Sand table, beach, or local lake! It's all fun!!!
19. Visit a friend, neighbor, or someone who can't get out easily (Here is Samuel visiting his great-grandfather...Sam-dad!)
20. Celebrate a holiday! Any holiday! We celebrated the 4th of July with a BBQ, a couple crafts, and a few fireworks...but don't forget about other amazing holidays like Granparents day!
21. Go to a yard sale and see what bargains you can find! For $11 we got this great train set!!!

Nutellasicles? Okay you've been holding out on me. That sounds amazingly delicious!!! I really need to work on getting more ideas on pinterest. Or better yet, just go behind you and pin everything you are pinning.
ReplyDeleteOh and btw, I actually managed to talk Rob into getting Lydia a water table. The other day she played in Ellie's water for a good half hour. After seeing how much fun she was having Rob finally relented. So whenever I have a spare moment this week I plan on picking one up.
