This has been the first holiday that Samuel has really gotten a good grasp as to what was going on. He wasn't a big fan of Halloween, and we didn't bother to take him out Trick or Treating...but he gets Valentines Day!
We spent a lot of time decorating, making special treats, and working on cards.
Valentines Day fell on a Tuesday this year! Which is MOPS day! Samuel went in prepared with Fun Dip and pencils for all his friends. Of course, you can imagine the surprise on my face (and his!) when we got home and opened his Valentines Day bag of goods from his friends! WOWWZA! There was a TON of candy and Valentines! He was thrilled and spent the whole afternoon looking at all the cards and picking out candy to eat! I let him have what he wanted the first day, but then hid the rest and he gets one piece a day.
Of course, a perk to confiscating candy is picking out the ones he can't eat yet...and to make sure everyone is safe...consuming it yourself :0)
