Vacation really went fast for us! We had so much fun!!!
Thursday turned out to be another gorgeous day at the beach! So we utilized it for a day of long walks, building sand castles, playing in the surf, and chasing seagulls!
Here's more pictures of our sandcastle adventures!
The water was a bit chilly...but the boys weren't too scared to go in!!!!
Yep, we were trying to avoid a full fledged wet situation...but Samuel was compelled to sit down in the surf and get wet (the water was quite chilly!)! So we called it a day and went in to change for dinner! Samuel was less than thrilled by this idea and wanted to stay out and play in the water!!!
So to compromise we went to the pool, and then headed out to Bella's Pizza for some YUMMY food!!!!!! And then took a great walk down the boardwalk watching the moon and listening to the waves! It was great!
How cute are these pictures of Samuel though???
Brown is definitely his color! Thanks Melanie for the sweatshirt!!!
The monkey's on his back again!
No question, Samuel definitely looks like his daddy!
They are best buddies! They even have a song about it!
Then we started the waiting game...what were we waiting for????? The arrival of Uncle Ricky and Aunt Mandy!!!!!!!!!! We were so excited to have them visit us for the night!!!
But we had to wait and wait and wait! So we passed the time playing cars...
Being silly!
Trying on Eric's shoes!
And finally Uncle Ricky and Aunt Mandy arrived!!!!!!!! YAYAYAY!
Now, before you scroll down there needs to be a disclaimer. Samuel is a very shy kid. He loves his parents, tolerates his grandparents, but much more than that...he just kind of avoids you...unless you are UNCLE RICKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Samuel ADORES Uncle Ricky!!! And I was even more happy that he tolerated his Aunt Mandy fairly well too!!! He didn't even scream when she said Hi or got close!!! YAYAYA! There is hope for my child!!!
But my brother Ricky is an amazing guy anyway! He's a great little brother! Super funny, really sweet and considerate, and a stand up uncle! He and Mandy are a great pair, and I'm thrilled to be related to them! (anyone who wants to read his and Mandy's blog, take a look: http://lettersfromhisbeloved.blogspot.com/2011/09/get-your-back-to-sky.html
And I think Samuel knows how lucky he is to have so many aunts and uncles who love him!!!
But there is just something about Uncle Ricky...Samuel just loves him!
So within about 3 minutes of Ricky's arrival (they arrived at 10pm) I see Samuel flying through the air!
Then a pretty intense game of peek-a-boo! Samuel had to explain to Uncle Ricky how to play!
Then they read some books!
More flying!
I want to say this was some kind of wrestling match that involved hugs!
Then there was a piggy back ride!
Samuel needed a break from all the playing for something to drink and eat!
Then Samuel showed off his shoes and wanted to go outside!
Showing Uncle Ricky how he can close his eyes and spin in a circle!
Thankfully, we all started getting exhausted (you are probably exhausted just reading this and looking at the pictures).
So Samuel cuddled up with Uncle Ricky to look at pictures from his camera!
Saying Cheese!
Don't worry, I have pictures of Aunt Mandy too! By Friday, Samuel was a fan of Aunt Mandy!!!
So another great day of vacation for the Raines family!!!
