In September, Western Maryland caught the tail end of a hurricane. It was rather minor for us: lots and lots of rain, some wind, a few trees and large branches fell over. The hardest part was staying inside for some many days!!! We just weren't use to that after being outside ALL SUMMER!
One morning I was complaining during story time how we were tired of being stuck indoors, and one of my friends told me that rain shouldn't stop us...go out and have fun! So home we went to find some boots and old pants and an old rain coat!
My attempts of keeping Samuel in a rain coat or an umbrella over his head were futile. Since it was so warm, I figured just to let the boy have some fun!
And did he ever have fun! Large rain puddles, sticks, rocks to throw in the puddles, mud, rain...it was just what Samuel finds fun!!! We spent a whole afternoon getting dirty!!!
Samuel examining some worms he found!
When I was finally able to convince Samuel to come inside, we were covered in mud and soaked. So an afternoon of bath time, snacks, warm blankets, and a movie followed! It was a great day!
