Samuel and Hank

When my parents came to visit last week, they brought their hound dog Hank.  It was Hank's first car trip and his first trip to Maryland.  For those of you who don't know Hank, he is just the sweetest little dog, but he is also the biggest wimp ever!  The last time we were in Virginia, a piece of dog food shifted in his dog bowl and poor Hank was scared to death!  We weren't too sure how he would do in a new environment, one that has an active toddler in it...but Hank did great!  Even cuter, Samuel just loved Hank!  They were good friends from the start!

I don't know if it's because both of them are on the small side, or if it's just in Hanks nature to be loyal and protective to children, but Hank was very concerned about Samuel and what he was doing!  When Samuel cried, Hank got on his hind legs to check on him...it was really sweet to watch the two of them together.  Eric begged my parents to leave Hank in Maryland, but much to Eric's disappointment Hank returned to the mountains of Virginia.

Here's a couple of pictures I was able to catch of Samuel and Hank.  Samuel would sit and watch Dora, and Hank would sit right beside of him and let Samuel pet him!  It was just so sweet!
