Brush Brush Brush

Samuel has really struggled with teething. He is 16-months old with four teeth...a fifth one has popped through but it is barely past the gums, so we aren't counting it...yet! He was a late teether, and didn't get his first tooth until right before his 1st birthday. But as soon as that tooth came in we started the habit of tooth brushing. We used the cute Elmo tooth paste with the little finger brush. But once he got top and bottom teeth we switched to a "big boy" tooth brush because that boy can CHOMP! So we went out shopping and picked out an Elmo toothbrush and Little Bear toothpaste...and Samuel LOVES both. He is a great brusher!!! I always do the first round of brushing, but then I let him go at it and boy does he have fun. The only rule we have is that he can't walk around with his toothbrush, he has to stand in the bathroom beside me while he's brushing! He loves to mimic our tooth brushing (I brush my teeth while he brushes his). He shakes his head back and forth, brushes his tongue, and really takes good teeth of the few teeth he has! Sometimes he even wants to brush my teeth for me! What a sweetie! After about 10 minutes though, I insist on taking the toothbrush back, which he will nicely hand over...but he isn't so giving with the toothpaste and usually carries it around for the next 10 minutes! And sometimes he carries my toothpaste too! That boy loves good dental health!
