Adventures with Sidewalk Chalk

A few weeks ago I bought Samuel sidewalk chalk. We used it once or twice, but Samuel didn't really get into it so I put it away. The other day, he found the stash of sidewalk chalk and boy did we have some fun!

First off, Samuel really liked the blue chalk and the pink chalk. The other colors were OK, but he really had no interest in using them (he let me use them...very generous!). We spent a great time coloring our side walks and the backporch of our house! Now one might think that is where the fun with chalk might end...oh no, not with this boy!

We went on a hike...and the chalk came with us. We went down the slide...so did the chalk. We played in the playhouses...oh! the chalk did too! And of course, no round of mud puddles would be fun without chalk! Only once we were inside, shoes and hat off, and snack in his tummy did Samuel surrender the chalk...not voluntarily mind you, but only because he fell asleep clutching them! Samuel takes his chalk work very seriously! It was probably the best $1 we've even spent! AND my sidewalk and porch is now nicely decorated!
