A visit with Granny B and Grandpa

Last month we spent several days in Virginia because my brother got MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It was a whirlwind of a trip...we helped Ricky move furniture from northern Virginia, then had a dress rehearsal, the wedding, visited with family, and then came back to Maryland!  We barely had a chance to catch our breathe...but when we did slow down, boy did Samuel have FUN!

How does that saying go???  Grandchildren are God's reward for not killing your kids.  Samuel can do no wrong while visiting his grandparents in Virginia.  Though he has a shy streak at first, he makes himself quite at home very quickly!

Samuel enjoyed dancing to music...we may even have a future flat footer on our hands!  Pounding on the piano (as a child, we were NEVER allowed to pound on the piano...Samuel's a different story, we pull out the video camera to catch the moment!).  And despite my fascination with my own grandmother's bird bath as a child, we were under very strict order not to touch it since it was pretty wobbly anyway, or we might knock it over (which I'm sure I did at some point!). However, Granny B not only encourages Samuel to play in her water fountain, she see's Samuel come up the steps in the morning and plugs in the fountain so Samuel can play with it first thing!  See pictures below for proof! Ah yes, things are very different with grandchildren ;0)  I guess that's why we have so many shirts for Samuel that says things like "What happens at Grandma's stays at Grandma's" and "When mom says no, ask Grandpa."

There is never a question, when we are in Virginia Samuel might be showered with gifts, but he will definitely be doted on, praised, clapped for, loved, and admired...even if he does take 3 days to warm up to poor Granny B!!!

Taking a walk with daddy!
